Oracle Data Guard is a solution to build a database system including a main database and one or more standby databases. The main database, also known as the Primary Database, has the function of continuously sending updates as redo data to the standby Database. This will ensure that the data is always in sync between the databases.

In the event that the Primary Database is damaged due to hardware, data errors or meets problems, the Standby Database will take over the role of the Primary Database and then the applications will be transferred to the Standby Database. Now the Standby Database works like the Primary Database until the Primary Database is restored.

About the Oracle Database 19c training course: Data Guard Administration provides ways to use Oracle Data Guard to minimize the database system’s downtime.
